As part of my internship at Tikkun Olam Makers: RnD Headqarters, I led the development of the Adaptive surfboard from prototype to final product. I led the creation of open source documentation, parts sourcing (for makers all around the globe), user testing, and led teams of volunteers building many surfboards to further refine documentation.
I adapted the existing design for mass production and open-source creation. I wrote dozens of pages of detail documentation, created graphics, and curated step-by-step instructions for how to build the surfboard. Included in the documentation is also a detailed BOM with part sources that are reliable and available all around the world.
I also created a variation for building the surfboard as part of a community event - detailing what should be planned before hand, how to engage with volunteers, and budget requirements.
I spearheaded this project within the TOM RnD team. I also led many workshops and the manufacturing of surfboards to use with a nonprofit called Wave-Ability.
I was also awarded the Venture Lab Summer of Impact Award and participated in the Birthright Excel Israel Fellowship during my internship at Tikkun Olam Makers.
